    Introduction

    Revised National TB programme implemented from 24/03/1999. Under this programme, the diagnosis (free diagnosis of tuberculosis at DMC level / CBNAAT diagnosis (MDR), and XDR) and treatment of Tuberculosis is provided free of cost as per the DOTS guideline.

    AMC population are divided 10 TU. Each TU have 1 MOTU, 1 STS, 1 STLS, 5 TBHV and 1 DMC at one lakh population.

    Objective of this programme is to identify suspected patient of tuberculosis and diagnose them and provide the tuberculosis treatment. Target is to achieve 70% case detection and 85% cure Rate.

    Initiatives taken by the Department

    • To achieve and maintained Case detection, cure and conversion. Department arranges IEC, street play, puppet show, CME of private practioners, as well as notification of doctor and patient.
    • Advertise on auto-rickshaw hood and landline number given as a help-line number for community awareness.
    • 0 based XDR suspect and send the sputum IRL of the MDR cases confirm from date 16/6-2014.

    Important Notice

    People are requested to give sputum if they have >2 week cough and take regular DOTS, if they have tuberculosis.
