Government of India has launched the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) all over the country in the city/town with population of more than
50,000. Ahmedabad is being considered as a Mega City with a population of approx. 60, 00,000.
The main objective of NUHM is to provide quality health services to urban poor especially vulnerable population like migrants, nomads, construction
workers, rag pickers etc.
Under NUHM, health facility will be strengthened through provision of HR, Infrastructure, equipments etc.
NUHM will provide the gap funding to Urban Local Body.
Under NUHM, Community Process activities will be implemented through ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) and Mahila Arogya Samiti.
Corporation Project Management Unit do supervision and monitoring of all the activities under NUHM.
