    Introduction

    The vehicle tax department collects one-time lifetime municipal vehicle tax on vehicles sold/used within AMC limits. The vehicle tax is collected online through dealers as well as offline through AMC’s Civic Centers and vehicle tax counter at RTO Ahmedabad.

    Roles & Function/Objectives of Department

    • Lifetime vehicle tax is collected as per different types of vehicles in all City Civic Centers And online dealer module.
    • Since 01-10-2021 AMC collects lifetime vehicle tax as per Basic Price of Vehicle as under.

    (B) Rs.4,00,000/- To Rs.7,99,999/- 2.50 % of Basic Price
    (C) Rs.8,00,000/- To Rs.14,99,999/- 2.75 % of Basic Price
    (D) Rs.15,00,000 To Rs.24,99,999/- 3.50 % of Basic Price
    (E) Rs.25,00,000 To Rs.49,99,999/- 4.00 % of Basic Price
    (F) Rs.50,00,000/- And Above 5.00 % of Basic Price
    3 Metador, Minibus, Truck, Big Bus, And Other 2.00 % of Basic Price
    • Token Fee: Rs.25/- per vehicle.

    • More than 61 city civic center counters and Vehicle tax counter at an RTO are run by AMC to facilitate citizens to pay vehicle tax offline.
    • Dealers can pay vehicle tax through online module.
    • Common database to facilitate online access of information.
